Who are you?

I´m a yokel living in a crowded city called Madrid.

What’s on your mind right now?

My son Pepe, my wife, she is pregnant with our second boy,  the pruning of my fruit trees and the weather - it´s not raining enough.

How do you get this stuff out?

Idyllic landscapes with child reminiscence, clear skies with some clouds, snowy mountains, green fields, animals and few people.

How does it fit together?

I copy my son´s drawings and I use them as sketches for big paintings. We also have a cabin in the countryside where we spend long spells. There is a lot of work there but it´s so rewarding and inspiring to be in close contact with plants, trees, animals and non-intellectual country bumpkins!

What brought you to this point?

Nature, anarchy, self-sufficiency, anti-system feelings, simple life. 

Can you control it?

Not at all. We are caught in the wheels of a powerful form of capitalism so it´s diffficult to completely escape. But every day I try to do my own small resistance.

What’s next?

Prune vines and almond trees.
