Purple Gibson Les Paul Goddess guitar guitar for Cancer Research UK - Damien Hirst

Damien Hirst's guitar up for grabs at Abbey Road

Butterfly-themed Hirst Gibson Les Paul Goddess guitar to be auctioned for Cancer Research

Music-loving Phaidon.com readers may have heard about Sound & Vision at Abbey Road Studios, which has raised over £1.5 million for Cancer Research UK since 2006 through auctions of photography, artwork, memorabilia and money-can’t-buy musical experiences. This year's live and silent auctions will be held at the iconic Abbey Road recording studio on March 7th and includes an exclusive Damien Hirst artwork.

The purple Gibson Les Paul Goddess electric guitar has been specifically customised by the artist with the design of one of his most iconic series: the butterfly monochrome paintings. It will be auctioned live at the event to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
